2022 AJGI Scholarship Recipients Announced

We are happy to announce the recipients of the 2022 Avid Junior Golf Initiative College Scholarship! Each of these recipients exemplified the qualities of integrity, honor, hard word, selflessness and success both on and off the golf course. We are proud to award them each a $2,000 college scholarship.

 


William Hirtz
Houston, Texas

William Hirtz is a graduate of Memorial High School in Houston and was a member of the Memorial High School golf team. As a student, William was heavily involved in charitable fundraising efforts in his area, including raising more than $1,800 through the Kids Fore A Cause program for the Texas Children’s Hospital. He graduated with a 5.39 GPA and is attending Kenyon College this fall.

 


 


Connor McCaskill
Denton, Texas

Connor McCaskill is a graduate of Denton Guyer High School and a member of the Guyer golf team. Conor was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and held leadership positions in the BSA such as Quartermaster and Patrol Leader, and completed hundreds of service hours in his community. He graduated with a 3.3 GPA and is attending the University of Arkansas this fall.

 


 


Erik Ramos
Mansfield, Texas

Erik Ramos is a graduate of Mansfield Lake Ridge High School and a 2-year varsity golfer on the Lake Ridge golf team. Outside of school, Erik was a member of the First Tee of Greater Dallas, not only playing but volunteering for First Tee programs. In his free time, he enjoys playing disc golf. He graduated with a 3.12 GPA and is attending Blinn College this fall.

 


 


Anastasia White
Hickory Creek, Texas

Anastasia White is a graduate of Lake Dallas High School in Corinth and a member of the Lake Dallas golf team. In school she was a member of the Student Council, serving multiple roles including Historian and PR Officer. In 2017, she was the TX representative at Children’s Congress and spoke on behalf of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. She graduated with a 3.64 GPA and is attending the University of Oklahoma this fall.

 


 


Cindey Xiao
Colleyville, Texas

Cindey Xiao is a graduate of Colleyville Heritage High School and was the captain of the varsity golf team. She was involved in multiple organizations at her school including the National Honor Society, the Chinese Club, DECA and the National Science Honor Society. She graduated with a 3.89 GPA and is attending the University of Texas this fall.

 


 


Sarah Zeng
Allen, Texas

Sarah Zeng is a graduate of Allen High School and was the team captain of the Allen golf team. She was the School Chapter President of Amnesty International at Allen HS, as well as a member of the National Honor Society, the Math and Science Honor Societies and the Marching Band. She graduated with a 3.76 (unweighted) GPA and is attending Vanderbilt University this fall.
