[May 23-25 | San Antonio, TX] Despite thunderstorms that rolled in during on Memorial Day, shortening the third and final round of the 2020 Texas Masters/IMG World Qualifier to only 9 holes, scoring records were broken in both the boys and girls divisions and birdies were made by the dozens at historic Brackenridge Park Golf Course in San Antonio.

In the Girls Division, Austin Westlake senior-to-be Jackie Feldman birdied her final three holes of the day in the final round to capture the title and finish the tournament at 7-under-par, a tournament record for the girls division. Even more impressive was that she accomplished the feat in only 45 holes, instead of the regular 54 for the tournament.

Feldman made 9 birdies and only 2 bogeys for the entire week while cruising to a 4-shot victory over Canton junior Mia Nixon, who finished at 3 under. Austin’s Mimi Burton and Sugar Land’s Natalie Cao rounded out the Top 3, finishing tied for third at 2-under-par.

In the Boys Division, Klein Cain’s Andrew Spaulding, playing from in the penultimate group on the last day, birdied three of his last four holes to vault over first- and second-round leader Trent Griessel and capture victory at 11-under-par. Spaulding became the third player in the history of the event to reach double-digits under par, and Griessel joined him as the fourth player by finishing at 10-under, 1 stroke shy of the victory. Spaulding and Griessel’s finish at 11- and 10-under mark the first time in the Tour’s recorded history that two players have finished an event at double-digits under par.

Rounding out the Top 5 for the Boys Division were Tour Championship winner Garrett Endicott (3rd), Schertz’ Jackson Hymer (T4) and Austin’s Charlie Lippa (T4). In all, 27 boys finished at even par or better, and there were 71 rounds under par, both tournament records.
