2024 AJGI Scholarship Recipients Announced

We are happy to announce the recipients of the 2024 Avid Junior Golf Initiative College Scholarship! Each of these recipients exemplified the qualities of integrity, honor, hard word, selflessness and success both on and off the golf course. We are proud to award each a $2,000 college scholarship.

 


Tarun Anand
Irving, Texas

Tarun Anand is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin High School, graduating with a 3.85 GPA and a 1540 on the SAT.  Tarun has been involved in multiple volunteer programs throughout his community, and has a passion for mathematics and economics, as they apply to the business world. Upon graduating from college, he hopes to enter the business world as an entrepreneur in either the financial analysis or investment banking sectors.

 


 


Travis Hebert
Flower Mound, Texas

Travis Hebert is a graduate of Flower Mound High School, playing on the basketball team and the varsity golf team in school, as well as a member of the National Honor Society. Hebert has a passion for analytics and supply chain management, areas in which he plans to study in college. Hebert graduated with a 3.85 GPA and will be attending Oklahoma University in the fall.

 


 


Hannah Martin
Flower Mound, Texas

Hannah Martin is a home-schooled graduate from Flower Mound. She served as a team captain of the HSAA golf team, and also participated in volleyball and the National Honor Society. Outside of school, Hannah enjoys playing guitar and working out, and served as a small group leader for her youth group at church. She graduated with a 4.0 GPA and will be attending Colorado Christian University in the fall.

 


 


Leah Torres
Kingwood, Texas

Leah Torres is a graduate of Kingwood Park High School. While in school, she served as the team captain of the varsity golf team, was President of the National Honor Society, worked on the high school student newspaper, as was also a member of the Spanish, Math and Science Honor Societies (among others). In her spare time, Leah volunteered as a junior mentor for her local First Tee Chapter. She graduated with a 5.21 GPA and will be attending University of St. Thomas in the fall.
