2021 AJGI Scholarship Recipients Announced

We are happy to announce the recipients of the 2021 Avid Junior Golf Initiative College Scholarship! Each of these recipients exemplified the qualities of integrity, honor, hard word, selflessness and success both on and off the golf course. We are proud to award them each a $2,000 college scholarship.

 


Natalie Cao
SUGAR LAND, Texas

Natalie Cao is a graduate of Fort Bend Clements High School and was the captain of the Clements Golf Team. She was a junior mentor at the First Tee of Greater Houston for six years, and was involved at the Houston Food Bank and active in the rebuilding of her community after Hurricane Harvey. Natalie graduated with a 4.27 GPA and will be attending University of Pennsylvania in the fall.

DALLAS, Texas

Luke Jun is a graduate of Texas Christian Academy in Dallas and was the team captain of the TCA golf team. As captain, he lead the team in volunteer efforts in the community, and away from school he volunteered at his local church (including teaching Sunday School) and participating in the Feed My Starving Children organization. He graduated with a 4.5 GPA and will be attending Hardin-Simmons University in the fall.

 


 


kevin kim
KATY, Texas

Kevin Kim is a graduate of Taylor High School in Katy and a member of the golf team, where he was 3X First-Team All District and First Team All-Region (in 2020). Kevin was a member of the National Honor Society, serving as the NHS Secretary at Taylor, and in the summers, took service trips to the Dominican Republic. Kevin graduated with a 4.6 GPA and will be attending New York University in the fall.

SULPHUR SPRINGS, Texas

Mariam Tran is a graduate of Sulphur Springs High School and was the team captain of the varsity golf team. She was the Vice President of the National Honor Society and a 3X Regional Qualifier in UIL Journalism, CX Debate and Spelling. Mariam graduated with a 4.27 GPA and will be attending Southern Methodist University in the fall.
