TJGT End Of Summer Double Play…
Wrapping up the summer we had another TJGT double-play. Two great courses, lots of great golf.
First up the TJGT Sienna Plantation Team Championship Sienna Plantation Golf Club August 28-29, 2010. Two-man teams played a unique 36-hole format in typical hot, steamy Houston weather. Coach Dave Schuster from Houston Baptist was in attendance scouting the competition. The Boys 12-18 played 6,882 yards and the Girls 12-18 played 5,791 yards.
The TJGT 2009-2010 season came to an end this evening at Sienna Plantation Golf Club in Missouri City Texas, although you couldn’t tell the players that.
Several teams made late charges for each title with playoffs eventually deciding the Boys 12-18 2nd place and Girls 12-18 champions.
With an eagle, eagle, birdie, eagle finish a strong possibility, several teams found themselves only a few shots back with 4 to play.
While some teams were able to charge to 33, 32, 31 on the back 9, others were able to seal the deal or put themselves in a playoff for 1st with strong scores of 30 (Major Monzingo/Blake Pugh 1st place boys 12-18) (Laken Trahan/Diana Wohl 2nd place girls 12-18) on the back 9.
Monzingo and Pugh finished in 1st place in the boys 12-18 division after a very rough front 9.
Trahan and Wohl closed a 4 shot gap on the back 9 but eventually lost a playoff to Maty Monzingo and Maggie Neece for 1st place girls 12-18.
Thank you everybody for a great 2009-2010 tournament season and we all hope to see you soon as the 2010-2011 TJGT season will be kicking off in a few weeks all over the state. Make sure you reserve your spots in your favorite tournaments and your favorite courses.

Playoff details: Patrick Hollinger and Frederick Wedel defeated Neel Ahuja and Vance Edwards for 2nd place on the 2nd playoff hole.
The TJGT Allen Samuels Bridlewood Championship was played at Bridlewood Golf Course in Flower Mound, Texas. The Boys 16-18 played 6,858 yards; the Boys 12-15 played 6,410 yards; and the Girls 12-15 played 5,572 yards in this 36-hole Golfweek-ranked event. Coaches from DBU, Cameron, Northern Illinois, TCU, Oklahoma,Mexico, and Texas came out both days to watch the players tee it up in the good ‘ol Texas mid-day heat.
