Current and Former TJGT/iAlliance members faring well at US OPEN and Footjoy Invitational
At the US Open former TJGT/iAlliance members and Oklahoma State teammates, Kevin Tway and Rickie Fowler, and Andrew Dresser, former All-Big 12 at Texas Tech, all sit well within the cut line after the first round at the 2008 US Open being played at Torrey Pines in San Diego, California.
Of the three, Fowler, the 2008 Ben Hogan Award winner given to the top collegiate golfer in the nation, held the top spot after firing a one-under par 70 which left him tied for 6th overall.
At the AJGA Footjoy Invitational being held at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, NC, several TJGT/iAlliance members held a spot on the leader board led by Jordan Spieth, Dallas, Texas who shot 71-76-70 during the first three rounds to sit T-3. Cory Whitsett, the 2007 Boys Junior Am champion from Houston, Texas and Talor Gooch, Midwest City, Oklahoma were both tied for 7th with 3-day totals of 210. Other TJGT players holding top spots were 2007 Boys Junior Am Runner-up Anthony Paolucci, Dallas, Texas, James Kwon, Houston, Texas, Blake Redmond, Sugar Land, Texas and Adam Wennerstrom, Austin, Texas.
