Cowboys and….Sugar Creek!
No time to rest on the TJGT with two more top notch events this week.
The Allen Samuels Cowboys Junior Championship was played July 13th-14th, 2010 at the incredible Cowboys Golf Club just North of DFW Airport. Just shy of 100 players teed it up in front of coaches from DBU and Cameron with the Boys 16-18 playing 6,710 yards; the Boys 12-15 playing 6,370 yards; and all Girls playing 5,723 yards.
Players teed off at 2:30 everyday and it was a hot one! The greens were fast and the bunkers almost plugged every shot. Coach Matt Glenn said, “it was an extreme test of golf!!” Cowboy’s golf course has elevation changes off the tee and undulation on the greens that are almost out of control and will challenge any player. What a place to play and what an event.

Playoff details:
Kailey Glenn won third place in the girls 16-18 division against Melissa
Valdez on the first hole with a Birdie.
Joey Schroeder won third place in the boys 16-18 division against Corey
Bounds and Christian Hallman. He won it will a 40 ft. bomb on the first
hole for birdie!!
The Sugar Creek Junior Shootout was played July 11-12 2010 at the Sugar Creek Country Club with the Boys 16-18 playing 6,673 yards; the Boys 12-15 playing 6,262 yards; and all Girls playing 5,512 yards in this 36-hole nationally-ranked event.
Fighting off the heat and mosquito’s the players blazed around Sugar Creek CC in record times both days. Elizabeth Davis defended her home tuff by winning the Girls 16-18 Division, Megan Spinn didn’t waste a trip from Austin winning the Girls 12-15 Division by 10 strokes. Garret Geaccone won the Boys 12-15 Division with a strong -1 par 71 on the second day. Bryce Cooper and Kalen Vos had a playoff for 1st in the Boys 16-18 division tying with a two day score of 153 with Bryce coming out on top of the playoff.
