It was another great weekend of TGJT golf across the state with three events, including a team event being played. Great courses combined with beautiful weather along with the best junior golfers in the region make for some incredible golf.
First up we have the TJGT Tribute Team Championship played May 1st-2nd, 2010 at the Tribute Golf Club in the Colony just North of DFW airport. The course set up for some super low score and that’s exactly what we got.
On the boys side the duo of Major Monzingo and Henry Todd, who has verbally committed to play at Texas Tech, birdied the first playoff hole to the title from Cade Story and Will Zalatoris, who finished 2nd in last week’s AJGA Craig...

March 29, 2010

The Boys 16-18 played 7,123 yards and the Boys 12-15 played 6,257 yards while all of the girls played 5,716 yards in extremely windy conditions. Winds both days made both courses play super long with gusts up to 40 mph.
Between the two course we had the coaches from McClennan Community College and Baylor watching players from Texas, Louisiana, Missouri, and Mexico battle it out in these Golfweek-ranked events.
The Texas Junior Golf Tour’s 36-hole theme continued at the home of Baylor Golf, Twin Rivers Golf Club. Thirty-nine players teed it up in extremely windy conditions at the site of the Region II-5A Boys golf tournament. At registration, players were greeted with a Nike golf shirt and two…

Double your pleasure, double your fun on the TJGT!
March 22, 2010
The Texas Junior Golf Tour had double duty going on Sunday, March 21st. Two events were held simultaneously at Eagle’s Pointe in Mont Belvieu and Raven’s Nest Golf Club in Huntsville. Eagle Pointe is the host site for the Region III 5A boys and girls golf tournament, while Raven’s Nest is the host site for the boys and girls Region III 4A boys and girls golf tournament, as well as home to both the men’s and women’s Sam Houston State golf programs. This was a great opportunity for TJGT players to play their respective regional tournaments. On hand at Raven’s Nest was Sam Houston State Lady Bearkats golf coach Tommy Chain. The Texas Junior Golf Tour would like to thank Coach Chain for taking the time out of his busy schedule to come out and watch some of the girls action. The format at each site was a 36-hole event in which players were allowed to ride in carts, much like they do at college events on the West coast. Action appeared to be the word of the day for Christina Stringham. Fresh off of an extended layoff for medical reasons, Stringham basically won the title on her first 18 holes with an opening round...

March 17, 2010
It was a busy start to Spring Break with four events (three big tour and one mini-tour) all taking place at the same time. Our first stop takes us down to the Gulf of Mexco and the TJGT Galveston Island Classic. The TJGT Galveston Island Classic was played March 15-16 2010 at the Moody Gardens Golf Club in Galveston, Texas. The Boys 16-18 played 6,516 yards; the Boys 12-15 played 6,308 yards; and all Girls 12-18 5,859 yards in this 36-hole, nationally-ranked event. Close to 70 players started there Spring Break buy teeing it up down in Galveston.
The 6,500 yard Moody Gardens course again challenged some of the state’s best golfers. Many kids were ill prepared for the 30 mph winds, the narrow fairways and the sneaky difficult greens during the event.
However, we did have a few shining moments during the rain soaked…
