The Texas Jr. Golf Tour will kickoff the 2008/09 season August 4/5 at the PGA Tours’ Shell Houston Open venue, The Redstone Golf Club and follow up August 11/12 with the Houstonian Invitational. Both venues have played host to PGA Tour events and will provide a great test for TJGT members. The Houstonian Invitational will kick off the Dominion Gas Elite Series designed to maximize the national & collegiate exposure of TJGT members from numerous states & countries. Members will receive will receive exciting new gifts from Nike Golf & TJGT.
TJGT Elite Mini-Tour Launched for Ages 8-9, 10-11, 12-13 Along Side TJGT Events
Additionally, TJGT announces the kickoff of a new & exciting Elite Mini-Tour designed for ages 8-12. The Elite Mini-Tour will allow talented juniors & parents to play nationally ranked events and gain valuable information from TJGT staff on navigating elite junior golf & college recruiting. TJGT President Dave Jones states, “The number one question we receive from parents is: I wish we would have known earlier about the entire process of navigating my junior thru the AJGA system, educating myself about college golf recruiting & scholarship opportunities and the strategy of planning our tournaments.” The experience of TJGT staff of High School Coaches & parents of current & former collegiate golfers is unparalleled in junior golf and offers parents “Real Value” when playing any TJGT Mini-Tour Event. The formation of the Elite Mini Tour will provide apx. 15 -20 dedicated tournaments for younger players to play in competitive environments with the first class tournament operations & atmosphere of the TJGT invitationals. The Elite Mini-Tour will have its own dedicated website from TJGT.com and several tournaments will be in conjunction with Major Invitationals at collegiate venues that allow the parents, grandparents & players to also attend the incredible banquets, college coach Q & A evenings as well as receive outstanding invitational tee gifts from Nike Golf and TJGT sponsors.
