The Texas Collegiate Amateur Tour @ Gleneagles CC was played August 15th-16th 2011 at Gleneagles CC on the Kings Course in Plano, Texas. Gleneagles was the only US site this year to host a British Open qualifier. The 54-hole event was played like this: 36-holes on day one and 18 on day two. Players from NM, CO, FL, OK, LA & TX teed it up in the Golfweek-ranked event with all Men playing 6,826 yards and all Women playing 6,113 yards. North Texas and SMU had coaches in attendance. The weather can be summed up in one word- HOT.
In the end it was Bryan Boaz from ORU and Sarah Zwartynski from Texas A&M taking home the Collegiate titles and Ryan Evans from Edmond, OK and Stephanie Carlozzi from Naples, FL taking home the High School titles.
Boaz is a former Oklahoma State 3A Champion and a 2-time NCAA Team member who played on two Conference Championship Teams while at ORU and recently was a Semifinalist for the Oklahoma State Match Play Championship. Zwartynski played in each of her team’s 11 events, compiling a 75.12 stroke average on the season this past year with three top 10 finishes and five top 25 finishes. She also finished in 6th place at the Alamo Invitational and finished 6th in the Big 12 Championships. She tied for 55th place at the 2011 Women’s Golf NCAA National Championships.

AM Round – Round 1
Collegiate Division:
Mathew Stephens from Mont Belvieu, TX, led the first round with a blistering 66 followed by Alex Moon of Plano (University of Texas) and Bryan Boaz of Tulsa, OK (ORU) with 69.
The ladies were paced by Sarah Zwartynski of Allen, TX (Texas A&M) with a first round score of 72 followed by Shannon Jungman of Pflugerville, TX (UTSA) and Katie Paxton of Spring, TX (University of North Texas) with first round 77’s.
The High School Boys were led by Duncan Sutherland of Flower Mound, TX with a one-under par first round 71 followed by Blake Lyle of Argyle, TX with 76
The High School Girls were led by Stephanie Carlozzi of Naples, FL (2012) and Ariel Tidwell of Allen, TX who both shot 77.
Afternoon Round 2 - Day 1
Bryan Boaz of Tulsa OK (Oral Roberts University) continued his blistering pace set in the morning round following it up with a 67 for a 1st Day total of -9/135, Alex Moon’s afternoon round was another 69 for a Day 1 total of -6/138 and Matthew Stephens shot 73 for a Day 1 total of -5/139.
Sarah Zwartynski extended her lead with a PM round of 73 for a +1/145. Followed by Shannon Jungman with a +7/151. Flor Canedo from The Woodlands, was third after the first 36-homes with +13/157 total.
Duncan Sutherland kept pace with 74 for a Day 1 total of +1/145. Ryan Evans of Edmound OK had a PM round of 74 for a Day 1 Total of +9/153
Stephanie Carlozzi of Naples FL continued her consistent play with a PM score of 76 and a Day 1 total of +9/153. Ariel Tidwell stayed close after she shot an afternoon round of 78 for a Day 1 total of 155.
Day 2 – Final round
The Men’s Collegiate Division saw more stellar play from Bryan Boaz from ORU. The Tulsa, OK native and Senior Business Major wins TCAT Gleneagles Championship with 11-under par 205.
It was a tightly fought race….top 6 ranged from -3 to -11 under par…Fantastic play by the College Men.
On the Women’s side Zwartynski struggled to a final round 80 but still held on to win by one over Jungman who closed with a 75.
The High School Boys saw Ryan Evans hang on to win by two after firing a 75 and the High School Girls had a wire-to-wire winner in Stephanie Carlozzi who closed with a 77.
