The Redstone Junior Classic was played August 10-11 2009 at the Redstone GC on the Tournament Course with all Boys 12-18 playing 6,798 yards and al Girls 12-18 playing 5,768 yards in this 36-hole Golfweek-ranked event.
College coaches from Rice and Houston Baptist saw 105 players tee it in hot and rainy weather on the first day followed by hot and humid weather on day two.
Day 1 of the Redstone Junior Classic highlighted by a hour rain delay and 2 under score by Kyle Johnson and a 1 under score from Katelyn McDougal. Zach Zahn got a hole in 1 on hole 16.
Day 2 had Dylan Siebenaler win in sudden death playoff for 1st place over Andrew Rostek in the boys 16-18 division. While Katelyn McDougal held off Janell Lysack to win the girls 16-18 division. Abby Newton ran away with the girls 12-15 and Luke Sheehan won the boys 12-15. Marissa Bransburg got a hole in 1 on hole 14.

The TJGT Champions Circle Mixed Team Championship was played August 10-11, 2009 with the Boys 16-18 playing 6,810 yards, the Boys 12-15 playing 6,303 yards, and all Girls 12-18 playing 5,714 yards. The weather was sunny and hot the first day……second day was pleasant andwindy. The event went great. Players had a super time and everything went smoothly. The golf course played hard and the format for the mixed team event was fun.
The teams played low-ball the first day and scramble the second day.
