The Hills Classic was played at Flintrock Falls on The Hills Country Club course in Austin, Texas January 17-18 2009.
The Boys 16-18 played 6,771 yards; the Boys 12-15 6,419 yards; and all Girls played 5,871 in this 36-hole nationally-ranked event.
The weather was cool and breezy on Saturday with temperatures in the high 50s the winds were gusty up to 25 mph with cloudy skies. Sunday was colder as we began in the 40s, with clear skies.
As is the case at most TJGT events, college coaches were in attendance scouting THE best talent in the region.
If youre not familiar with Flintrock Falls it is a beautiful course with many breath-taking views. It also has many breath taking putts and greens to manage. The many false fronts and undulating greens make a first-class short game a priority. The boys 16-18 saw the only playoff action as Santiago Gavino clipped Preston Hardin on the second playoff hole with a birdie to take second place.
