The TJGT Missouri City Christmas Classic was played at the Sienna Plantation Golf Club December 21st-22nd 2009. The Boys 16-18 played 6,882 yards; the Boys 12-15 played 6,497 yards; and all Girls 12-18 played 5,791 in this 36-hole nationally-ranked event. TSU coach Harry Stewart was in attendance watching the players battle it out in very seasonal weather.
Ryanne Haddow held off Courtney Ferguson and Caitlyn Cassity to claim the 16-18 girls with a solid 157 2 day event. Caitlyn Cassity found herself in 3rd place after an extended vacation healing.
In the girls 12-15 division, Madeline Davis pulled off a 3 shot victory on the last hole as aggressive play got the best of Taylor Stockton. Kristen Bysh continued to improve her game as she rolled to 3rd place.
A quick rain shower soaked the final pairings of boys as the weather took a wet course and turned it into a squishy (Thanks for the Adjective Little Cassity) course.
Eddie Cruz defended his 2008 Christmas Classic title with a 1 stroke victory over Micah Hill of Katy. Eddie said, it wasn’t pretty, but it worked. Lonnie Smith of Bellaire finished 3rd.
Boys 12-15, Max Miller finished with a nice score of 154 to edge the field as another 2015 grad finished 2nd. Andrew Jacobe fired a solid 74 to claim 2nd.
