
Get ready because September 13th-14th will be a weekend to remember at the Baylor Bears Invitational in Waco. First off, the weekend will get started on Friday with custom tours of the Baylor University campus. Next up, College Bound Membership Director Coach Lynn Monzingo will host a CBM Recruiting Seminar at the Marriot Courtyard that will provide tons of valuable information you can’t find anywhere else. The banquet on Saturday night at the Waco Convention Center will be catered by the “world famous” George’s Restaurant and in addition to Baylor Head Coach Greg Priest speaker, the featured speaker will be none other than CEO of The Remax Long Drive Championships and two-time long drive champion Art Sellinger. This will be an action packed weekend on the TJGT. Here’s a bit more on Art and Coach Priest:
ART SELLINGER:
Two-time National Long Drive Champion and four-time finalist in the RE/Max North American Long Drive Championship are highlights in Art’s exciting career. Art uses those experiences to create and entertain golf audiences worldwide.
Beyond being a standout in the Long Drive competitions, Art endorses Taylor Made products, has produced two videos with sales over 130,000, and has been a Guest Instructor for the Byron Nelson Golf School. He has appeared in commercials for Taylor Made, Nitro, Pinnacle, and Power Swing Band. Art also acts as a contributing editor for Golf Tips Magazine.
Over 100 of America’s premier corporations have asked Art to perform a clinic or show for their golf outings. His golf shows are very well known and appreciated by his clients.
GREG PRIEST:
Greg Priest, who was named the ninth head coach in school history on Aug. 25, 2003, enters his seventh season at the helm of the Baylor men’s golf program. Last season, his team qualified for the program’s 12th consecutive NCAA Regional appearance, one of the nation’s longest active streaks.
The Canton, Texas, native is a graduate of East Texas State University in Commerce, Texas, having earned a bachelor’s degree in health and kinesiology in 1993 and a master’s degree in physical education in 1995. Priest was a member of the golf team at East Texas State, and as a student assistant, received the school’s Robert Parnell Scholarship.
Priest is married to the former Nida Prapan, and they are the parents of one son, Tyler Gregory, who was born April 21, 2005, and one daughter, Kate Malee, who was born Nov. 21, 2007.
