The TJGT Q School Challenge was played at the Blackhorse Golf Club on the South Course January 23rd-24th, 2010
The Boys 16-18 played 6,642 yards; the Boys 12-15 played 6,391 yards; and all Girls 12-18 played 5,706 yards in this 36-hole, nationally-ranked event.
According to the players the weather was only “decent” on Saturday but it could more accurately be described as pretty darn good with temperatures ranging from the mid-50’s to mid-60’s depending on the sun. Sunday had highs in the 60’s with winds up to 20 mph.
So for the first time in three years it was not bone cold out at Blackhorse which made for a pretty good weekend of golf. Sam Fidone dominated the first day with a one-under par 71 as Preston Stanley came on strong the second day with a one-over 73 to tie Sam for 1st place in the boys 16-18. This made for an exciting finish but the fireworks didn’t start till the playoff in the girls 16-18 division. Courtney Ferguson birdie’s the first playoff hole to take 1st place and Katie Paxton eagles from the hazard to take 3rd place.

The TJGT DFW Fazio Challenge at Stonebriar was played at Stonebriar Country Club on the Fazio course January 23-24, 2010.
The Boys 16-18 played 6,658 yards; the Boys 12-15 played 6,010 yards; and all Girls 12-18 played 5,547 yards in this 36-hole, nationally-ranked event.
The East Central University golf coach was on hand scouting the competition and saw the players battle extremely tough conditions with very cold, windy, and rainy conditions on Saturday and cold and wind on Sunday. This was a great test for all the players in the field and exactly what college coaches like to see.
