The Elite Mini-Tour Capital City Classic was played on The Hills of Lakeway Yaupon Course in Austin, Texas September 27th & 28th 2008. This 36-hole, nationally-ranked event saw some of the top young players in the State tee it up in near-perfect weather.
The Boys 12-13 played 4,976 yards, the Boys 11-12 played 4,545 yards, and the Boys & Girls 8-9 & Girls 10-11 all played 3,835 yards.
On to the action:
Daniel Martinez came back to fire final round one-under 71 to claim back-to-back-to-back titles on the Elite Mini Tour; This was a hotly contested division that saw some great play from Reese Ramsey, Garrett Leak, and PJ Schmitz.
Charles Kim and Tobin Niblett went head-to-head in the final round with Kim edging Niblett by a single stroke. Connor Caldwell had a great final round to finish 3rd.
In the 12-13 boys, steady play by Blake Stock helped him earn the title. Abb Cauthorn played very steady as well in the second round to put himself in position for a title shot.
In the girls 8-9 division, Ashni Druva claims first place after a second round 93.
Ann Parmerter becomes the first girls 10-11 champion on the EMT.
