Theres never a shortage of action on the TJGT and this past weekend, September 6-7, 2008, was no exception. In addition to the two TJGT Invitationals played in Waco, the TJGT had events going on in San Antonio and Huntsville as well. With four events in one weekend it pays to have a big staff.
First up is the Alamo City Kick-Off played at the historic Pecan Valley Golf Club in San Antonio. Close to 75 players teed it up in this 36-hole nationally-ranked event with the Boys 16-18 playing 7,047 yards, the Boys 12-15 playing 6,564 yards, and all Girls playing 5,753 yards.
On Saturday the weather was sunny with a slight breeze. On Sunday it was cool in the morning as the temperatures were in the mid 70s. Temperatures rose quickly to the lower 90s by midmorning. The course was in great shape and pace of play was just under 4:30 both days.
