Point System & Awards
TJGT will award performance points to the top 15 in each division at each tournament. (See points table). These performance points will be used to assist the TJGT staff in determining the invitation list for invitational events as well as the Players of the Year and All Tour teams for the exciting multi-media Tour Championship Awards Show @ Horseshoe Bay Resort in February 2010. Invitational Events are selected based on overall performance in TJGT, High School, AJGA, USGA events as well as the Golfweek & Jr. Golf Scoreboard Rankings. The purpose of the invitational fields is to produce the strongest fields possible to provide maximum exposure to college coaches, Golfweek rankings and maximize AJGA PBE.
All Tour Teams and Players of the Year are the top five point leaders & ties for all tournaments designated in the 2009/10 season up to the 2010 tour championship @ Horseshoe Bay Resort. The finish @ the tour championship itself do not count for the above awards. Any points accumulated after the tour championship (Feb. 2010) will count towards the Morgan Stanley All-American team. The Morgan Stanley All-American team will be the top five point leaders & ties after the final event of the 2009/10 season. (Apx. July 31, 2010) The TJGT conducts an exciting tour championship awards ceremony & multi-media show with as many as 850 in attendance. Don’t miss this night in junior golf. College coach speakers such as Texas Head Coach John Fields (2009), LSU Women's Head Coach Karen Bahnsen (2007), Texas Women's Head Coach Martha Richards (2008) have inspired everyone in attendance each year. Furthermore, college coach speakers are also featured at the highly popular Elite Invitational Series.
All Elite Mini Tour members are also recognized at the tour championship awards show exactly how the TJGT “Big Tour” award are presented. All Tour Teams and Player of the Year in each age division.
The Elite Mini Tour does not have Golfweek Ranked Events. All Mini-Tour players disregard the Golfweek Events Point Values. Mini-Tour events associated with a TJGT Invitational or Major will receive the same value of points listed below.
